About PARC
PARC brings together 201 partners from 30 countries, including national authorities, research institutes, universities, public health organisations, and EU agencies (ECHA, EEA, EFSA).
PARC is a public-public partnership working for the benefit of human health and the environment. It develops and applies innovative approaches, tools, data, and methods to improve the way chemical risks are assessed. Its work supports key European policies such as the European Green Deal and the Chemicals Strategy for Sustainability.
By generating new knowledge and solutions, PARC helps protect public health and the environment while providing a stronger scientific basis for regulation and policy action.

Collaboration and network
A key strength of PARC lies in its collaborative approach. Partners work closely with national and international institutions across Europe, reinforcing scientific exchange, harmonising methods, and ensuring continuity of research efforts across Europe.
Through joint activities, projects, workshops, training initiatives, and scientific exchanges, PARC fosters shared standards and cross-border cooperation. The partnership also supports a common European science-policy agenda on chemicals. Data and results are also made available to European agencies, ensuring that new knowledge is integrated into regulatory practice and evidence-based decision-making.
PARC is built on a foundation of collaborative research projects which bring together scientists, institutions, and stakeholders from across Europe. By linking diverse projects under one common framework, PARC ensures that research outputs are not isolated, but instead contribute to shared objectives, reinforce one another, and translate into tangible impacts for policy, society, and the economy. Health Board in PARC
The Health Board is one of the partners in PARC involved in project coordination in Estonia. We actively contribute to dissemination activities by sharing information about the project, its results, trainings, and workshops. We also contribute both to carrying out specific laboratory analyses and to translating materials.
By taking part in PARC, we contribute to advancing scientific innovation, strengthening tools for exposure assessment and risk characterisation, and ensuring that chemical safety in Europe is based on solid and up-to-date evidence.
Expected impact
The broader impact of PARC extends beyond the scientific community. It establishes the EU as an internationally recognised leader in innovative chemical risk assessment and strengthens Europe’s capacity to protect human health and the environment. The project aims to deliver tangible results for European citizens and the environment by:
- Helping to reduce human exposure and environmental contamination by hazardous chemicals;
- Supporting stronger regulatory policies, grounded in transparent and up-to-date scientific evidence;
- Reinforcing scientific and laboratory capacities across Europe;
- Building public trust in environmental health decisions;
- Enabling sustainable innovation within the chemical industry;
- Providing citizens with better knowledge on chemicals, their use, how to reduce exposure, and what type of legislation is in place to protect them.
