In total, 675 individuals are being treated in hospital due to symptomatic COVID-19
As of the morning of 25 February, hospital treatment is being provided to 675 individuals who have been infected with COVID-19. A total of 328 patients who have COVID-19 are currently receiving hospital treatment after having developed severe symptoms, including 198 patients or 60.4% of the overall figure who have not been vaccinated, and one hundred and thirty patients or 39.4% who have been fully vaccinated.
The average hospitalisation rate for the last seven days for every 100,000 members of the country's vaccinated population is 2.2 people per day, while for the unvaccinated population the figure is 7.2.
Sixty-one new COVID-19 cases have been opened by hospitals within the past 24 hours; in twenty-five cases amongst these, the patients required hospitalisation due to symptomatic COVID-19. On average, forty-three new patients each day who exhibit signs of symptomatic COVID-19 infection have been hospitalised within the past ten days. Nine deaths of individuals who were infected with COVID-19 have been added, involving a 71 year-old woman, a 76 year-old man, an 80 year-old woman, an 82 year-old woman, an 86 year-old man, an 89 year-old man, a 90 year-old woman, a 93 year-old man, and also a 94 year-old woman. Four of those individuals had not been vaccinated.
The last 24 hours have also seen 8,116 tests being analysed in Estonia in relation to coronavirus, of which the results of 5,015 were positive. The average infection rate for the last seven days for every 100,000 members of the country's vaccinated population is 304.5, while for the unvaccinated population the figure is 465.5.
A total of 146 vaccine doses have been administered over the past 24 hours, with sixteen individuals receiving their first injections. As of this morning, 428,012 individuals had received their additional or booster doses. Of the total population in Estonia, 63% have received two vaccine doses.
