In total, 553 individuals are being treated in hospital due to symptomatic COVID-19

As of the morning of 18 February, hospital treatment is being provided to 553 individuals who have been infected with COVID-19. A total of 301 patients who have COVID-19 are currently receiving hospital treatment after having developed severe symptoms, including 198 patients or 65.8% of the overall figure who have not been vaccinated, and one hundred and three patients or 34.2% who have been fully vaccinated.

The average hospitalisation rate for the last seven days for every 100,000 members of the country's vaccinated population is 1.8 people per day, while for the unvaccinated population the figure is 7.8.

Ninety-one new COVID-19 cases have been opened by hospitals within the past 24 hours; in 49 cases amongst these, the patients required hospitalisation due to symptomatic COVID-19. On average, 44 new patients each day who exhibit signs of symptomatic COVID-19 infection have been hospitalised within the past ten days. Four new deaths of individuals who had been infected by COVID-19 have been added, involving a 72 year-old man, a 75 year-old man, a 79 year-old woman, and also an 86 year-old woman. None of those individuals had been vaccinated.

The last 24 hours have also seen 11,332 tests being analysed in Estonia in relation to coronavirus, of which the results of 6,728 were positive. The average infection rate for the last seven days for every 100,000 members of the country's vaccinated population is 331.4, while for the unvaccinated population the figure is 508.7.

A total of 1,266 vaccine doses have been administered over the past 24 hours, with 97 individuals receiving their first injections. As of this morning, 423,456 individuals had received their additional or booster doses. Of the total population in Estonia, 62.9% have received two vaccine doses.

Monday morning saw a grand total of 143 COVID-19 patients who required hospitalisation. In week 31, an overall figure of 122 new cases of COVID-19 were registered by hospitals.
