In total, 516 individuals are being treated in hospital due to symptomatic COVID-19

As of the morning of 25 October, hospital treatment is being provided to 516 individuals who have been infected with COVID-19. A total of 362 patients with COVID-19 are currently receiving hospital treatment after having developed serious symptoms, including 253 patients who have not been vaccinated (which means 70.0% of the overall figure), and 109 patients who have been fully vaccinated (which amounts to 30.0% of the overall figure).

Seventy-six new COVID-19 cases have been opened by hospitals within the past 24 hours. Eight new deaths have been registered within the same period of time, involving a 68 year-old woman, a 68 year-old man, a 73 year-old man, a 79 year-old man, an 84 year-old woman, an 86 year-old man, an 88 year-old woman, and a 94 year-old woman. Seven of those individuals had not been vaccinated, while the sole remaining individual had been vaccinated.

The last 24 hours have also seen 5,957 tests being analysed in Estonia in relation to coronavirus, of which the results of 1,282 were positive. In total, 821 of the new cases were unvaccinated, while 461 infected individuals had completed the vaccination process.

A total of 1,728 vaccine doses have been administered over the past 24 hours, with 1,103 individuals receiving their first injections. As of this morning, 18,188 individuals had received their additional or booster doses. Of the total population in Estonia, 56.4% are fully vaccinated.

A total of 223 patients who have COVID-19 are currently receiving hospital treatment after having developed serious symptoms, including 178 patients who have not been vaccinated (which covers 80% of the overall figure), and forty-five patients who have been fully vaccinated (which amounts to 20% of the overall figure).
