In total, 510 individuals are being treated in hospital due to symptomatic COVID-19
As of the morning of 16 February, hospital treatment is being provided to 510 individuals who have been infected with COVID-19. A total of 288 patients who have COVID-19 are currently receiving hospital treatment after having developed severe symptoms, including 182 patients or 63.2% of the overall figure who have not been vaccinated, and one hundred and six patients or 36.8% who have been fully vaccinated.
The average hospitalisation rate for the last seven days for every 100,000 members of the country’s vaccinated population is 1.8 people per day, while for the unvaccinated population the figure is 7.4.
One hundred and one new COVID-19 cases have been opened by hospitals within the past 24 hours; in 50 cases amongst these, the patients required hospitalisation due to symptomatic COVID-19. On average, 44 new patients each day who exhibit signs of symptomatic COVID-19 infection have been hospitalised within the past ten days. Seventeen new deaths have been added, all between the ages of seventy-four and one hundred. Eleven of those individuals had not been vaccinated.
The last 24 hours have also seen 13,344 tests being analysed in Estonia in relation to coronavirus, of which the results of 8,439 were positive. The average infection rate for the last seven days for every 100,000 members of the country's vaccinated population is 313.9, while for the unvaccinated population the figure is 495.4.
A total of 1,285 vaccine doses have been administered over the past 24 hours, with 105 individuals receiving their first injections. As of this morning, 421,745 individuals had received their additional or booster doses. Of the total population in Estonia, 62.8% have received two vaccine doses.
