In total, 409 individuals are being treated in hospital due to symptomatic COVID-19
As of the morning of 7 February, hospital treatment is being provided to 409 individuals who have been infected with COVID-19. A total of 241 patients who have COVID-19 are currently receiving hospital treatment after having developed severe symptoms, including 167 patients, or 69.3% of the total, who have not been vaccinated, and seventy-four patients or 30.7% who have been fully vaccinated.
Forty-seven new COVID-19 cases have been opened by hospitals within the past 24 hours. In 32 cases amongst these, the patients required hospitalisation due to symptomatic COVID-19. On average, 29 new patients each day who have symptomatic COVID-19 infection have been hospitalised within the past ten days. Six new deaths have been added within the past 24 hours: a 91 year-old woman, a 90 year-old woman, an 89 year-old woman, two 86 year-old women, and also a 79 year-old woman. Four of these individuals had not been vaccinated.
The last 24 hours have also seen 7,858 tests being analysed in Estonia in relation to coronavirus, of which the results of 4,621 were positive. The average infection rate for the last seven days for every 100,000 members of the country's vaccinated population is 417.8, while for the unvaccinated population the figure is 630.8.
A total of 510 vaccine doses have been administered over the past 24 hours, with 36 individuals receiving their first injections. As of this morning, 413,494 individuals had received their additional or booster doses. Of the total population in Estonia, 62.6% have received two vaccine doses.
