In total, 386 individuals are being treated in hospital due to symptomatic COVID-19

As of the morning of 4 February, hospital treatment is being provided to 386 individuals who have been infected with COVID-19. A total of 225 patients who have COVID-19 are currently receiving hospital treatment after having developed severe symptoms, including 164 patients who have not been vaccinated (covering 72.9% of the overall figure), and sixty-one patients who have been fully vaccinated (which amounts to 27.1% of the overall figure).

Forty-nine new COVID-19 cases have been opened by hospitals within the past 24 hours. Of a total of twenty-eight of these cases, the patients required hospitalisation due to symptomatic COVID-19. Six new deaths have been added within the same period: a 49 year-old man, a 66 year-old woman, a 69 year-old woman, a 74 year-old woman, an 88 year-old man, and also a 96 year-old woman. Five of those individuals had not been vaccinated.

The last 24 hours have also seen 14,784 tests being analysed in Estonia in relation to coronavirus, of which the results of 8,004 were positive. The average infection rate for the last seven days for every 100,000 members of the country's vaccinated population is 401.3, while for the unvaccinated population the figure is 619.7.

A total of 2,104 vaccine doses have been administered over the past 24 hours, with 189 individuals receiving their first injections. As of this morning, 410,513 individuals had received their additional or booster doses. Of the total population in Estonia, 62.5% have received two vaccine doses.
