In total, 355 individuals are being treated in hospital due to symptomatic COVID-19

As of the morning of 28 March, hospital treatment is being provided to 355 individuals who have been infected with COVID-19. A total of 164 patients who have COVID-19 are currently receiving hospital treatment after having developed severe symptoms, including 96 patients or 58.6% of the overall figure who have not been vaccinated, and 68 patients or 41.4% who have been fully vaccinated. The average hospitalisation rate for the last seven days for every 100,000 members of the country's vaccinated population is 0.8 people a day, while for the unvaccinated population the figure is 3.1.

Twenty-six new COVID-19 cases have been opened by hospitals within the past 24 hours; in thirteen of those cases, the patients required hospitalisation due to symptomatic COVID-19. On average within the past ten days, a total of 20.1 new patients each day who exhibit signs of symptomatic COVID-19 infection have been hospitalised. Five deaths have been added of individuals who were infected by COVID-19, involving a 38 year-old woman, a 67 year-old woman, a 68 year-old man, an 89 year-old woman, and also a 91 year-old man. Four of those individuals had not been vaccinated.

The last 24 hours have also seen 2,115 tests being analysed in Estonia in relation to coronavirus, of which the results of 573 were positive. The average infection rate for the last seven days for every 100,000 members of the country's vaccinated population is 82, while for the unvaccinated population the figure is 98.

A total of 150 vaccine doses have been administered over the past 24 hours, with thirteen individuals receiving their first injections. As of this morning, 443,230 individuals had received their additional or booster doses. Of the total population in Estonia, 63.4% have received two vaccine doses.
