In total, 317 individuals are being treated in hospital due to symptomatic COVID-19

As of the morning of 22 October, hospital treatment is being provided to 446 individuals who have been infected with COVID-19. A total of 317 patients with COVID-19 are currently receiving hospital treatment due to serious COVID-19 cases, including 206 patients who have not been vaccinated (which means 65.0% of the overall figure), and 111 patients who have been fully vaccinated (which amounts to 35.0% of the overall figure).

Fifty-one new COVID-19 cases have been opened by hospitals within the past 24 hours. Five new deaths have been registered within the same period of time, involving a 54 year-old man, a 61 year-old man, an 84 year-old woman, a 91 year-old woman, and a 95 year-old man. Three of those individuals had not been vaccinated.

The last 24 hours have also seen 8,463 tests being analysed in Estonia in relation to coronavirus, of which the results of 1,324 were positive. In total, 841 of the new cases were unvaccinated, while 483 infected individuals had completed the vaccination process.

A total of 2,626 vaccine doses have been administered over the past 24 hours, and 1,409,701 vaccine doses have been administered overall. Of the total population in Estonia, 55.2% are fully vaccinated.
