In total, 309 individuals are being treated in hospital due to symptomatic COVID-19

Sümptomaatilise COVID-19 tõttu vajab haiglaravi 309 inimest

As of the morning of 18 October, hospital treatment is being provided to 309 individuals who have symptomatic COVID-19, including 213 patients who have not been vaccinated (which means 68.9% of the overall figure), and ninety-six patients who have been fully vaccinated (which amounts to 31.1% of the overall figure). A total of 408 patients with COVID-19 are currently receiving hospital treatment, ninety-nine of whom were hospitalised for other reasons, but who tested positive upon admission into the hospital.

Forty-four new COVID-19 cases have been opened by hospitals within the past 24 hours. Three new deaths have been registered within the same period of time, involving a 37 year-old man, an 82 year-old woman, and a 90 year-old woman. At least one of those individuals had not been vaccinated, while another patient’s details are still being confirmed.

The last 24 hours have also seen 4,975 tests being analysed in Estonia in relation to coronavirus, of which the results of 821 were positive. In total, 539 of the new cases were unvaccinated, while 282 infected individuals had completed the vaccination process.

A total of 1,190 vaccine doses have been administered over the past 24 hours, and 1,401,024 vaccine doses have been administered overall. Of the total adult population in Estonia, 68.1% have received at least one dose of the vaccine.
