In total, 305 individuals are being treated in hospital due to symptomatic COVID-19
As of the morning of 4 April, hospital treatment is being provided to 305 individuals who have been infected with COVID-19. A total of 129 patients who have COVID-19 are currently receiving hospital treatment after having developed severe symptoms, including 74 patients or 57.4% of the overall figure who have not been vaccinated, and 55 patients or 42.6% who have been fully vaccinated.
The average hospitalisation rate for the last seven days for every 100,000 members of the country’s vaccinated population is 0.8 people a day, while for the unvaccinated population the figure is 2.7.
Twenty-eight new COVID-19 cases have been opened by hospitals within the past 24 hours; in ten of those cases, the patients required hospitalisation due to symptomatic COVID-19. On average within the past ten days, 14.0 new patients each day who exhibit signs of symptomatic COVID-19 infection have been hospitalised. One death has been added of an individual who was infected by COVID-19, involving a 73 year-old woman who had already been vaccinated.
The last 24 hours have also seen 1,929 tests being analysed in Estonia in relation to coronavirus, of which the results of 427 were positive. The average infection rate for the last seven days for every 100,000 members of the country’s vaccinated population is 69, while for the unvaccinated population the figure is 71.
A total of 131 vaccine doses have been administered over the past 24 hours, with nine individuals receiving their first injections. As of this morning, 445,674 individuals had received their additional or booster doses. Of the total population in Estonia, 63.4% have received two vaccine doses.
