In total, 302 individuals are being treated in hospital due to symptomatic COVID-19

As of the morning of 20 October, hospital treatment is being provided to 413 individuals who have symptomatic COVID-19. A total of 302 patients with COVID-19 are currently receiving hospital treatment due to serious COVID-19 cases, including 204 patients who have not been vaccinated (which means 67.6% of the overall figure), and ninety-eight patients who have been fully vaccinated (which amounts to 32.4% of the overall figure).

Fifty-four new COVID-19 cases have been opened by hospitals within the past 24 hours. Three new deaths have been registered within the same period of time, involving a 59 year-old man, an 80 year-old woman, and a 92 year-old woman. None of those individuals had been vaccinated.

The last 24 hours have also seen 8,753 tests being analysed in Estonia in relation to coronavirus, of which the results of 1,347 were positive. In total, 865 of the new cases were unvaccinated, while 482 infected individuals had completed the vaccination process. 

A total of 1,818 vaccine doses have been administered over the past 24 hours, and 1,404,640 vaccine doses have been administered overall. Of the total population in Estonia, 55.0% are fully vaccinated.
