In total, 256 individuals are being treated in hospital due to symptomatic COVID-19

As of the morning of 2 December, hospital treatment is being provided to 256 individuals who have been infected with COVID-19. A total of 212 patients who have COVID-19 are currently receiving hospital treatment after having developed serious symptoms, including 160 patients who have not been vaccinated (which means 75.5% of the overall figure), and fifty-two patients who have been fully vaccinated (which amounts to 24.5% of the overall figure).

Eighteen new COVID-19 cases have been opened by hospitals within the past 24 hours. Five new deaths have been registered within the same period of time, involving a 35 year-old man, a 72 year-old man, a 75 year-old man, an 86 year-old man, and an 89 year-old woman. None of those individuals had been vaccinated.

The last 24 hours have also seen 5,531 tests being analysed in Estonia in relation to coronavirus, of which the results of 521 were positive. In total, 340 of the new cases were unvaccinated, while 181 infected individuals had completed the vaccination process.

A total of 5,911 vaccine doses have been administered over the past 24 hours, with 690 individuals receiving their first injections. As of this morning, 183,520 individuals had received their additional or booster doses. Of the total population in Estonia, 59.4% are fully vaccinated.

Monday morning’s COVID-19 report is able to state that a total of ninety-seven individuals are being treated in hospital due to symptomatic COVID-19. Hospitals opened eighty new COVID-19 cases last week. The percentage of positive test results out of all tests increased by almost 15%.
