In total, 237 individuals are being treated in hospital due to symptomatic COVID-19

As of the morning of 12 October, hospital treatment is being provided to 237 individuals who have symptomatic COVID-19. A total of 290 patients with COVID-19 are currently receiving hospital treatment, including 194 patients who have not been vaccinated (which means 66.9% of the overall figure), and ninety-six patients who have been fully vaccinated (which amounts to 33.1% of the overall figure).

Fifty-six new COVID-19 cases have been opened by hospitals within the past 24 hours. Two new deaths have been registered within the same period of time, involving an 85 year-old man and an 89 year-old woman. Neither of those individuals had been vaccinated.

The last 24 hours have also seen 7,364 tests being analysed in Estonia in relation to coronavirus, of which the results of 1,260 were positive. In total, 840 of the new cases were unvaccinated, while 420 infected individuals had completed the vaccination process.

A total of 1,654 vaccine doses have been administered over the past 24 hours, and 1,390,624 vaccine doses have been administered overall. Of the total adult population in Estonia, 67.6% have received at least one dose of the vaccine.
