In total, 157 individuals are being treated in hospital due to symptomatic COVID-19

As of the morning of 26 April, hospital treatment is being provided to 157 individuals who have been infected with COVID-19. A total of sixty-four patients who have COVID-19 are currently receiving hospital treatment after having developed severe symptoms, including thirty-six patients or 56.3% of the overall figure who have not been vaccinated, and twenty-eight patients or 43.7% who have been fully vaccinated.

The average hospitalisation rate for the last seven days for every 100,000 members of the country’s vaccinated population is 0.5 people a day, while for the unvaccinated population the figure is 1.7.

Twenty-five new COVID-19 cases have been opened by hospitals within the past 24 hours; in eleven of those cases, the patients required hospitalisation due to symptomatic COVID-19. On average within the past seven days, 7.3 new patients each day who exhibit signs of symptomatic COVID-19 infection have been hospitalised. No new deaths have been added within the past 24 hours.

The last 24 hours have also seen 3,578 tests being analysed in Estonia in relation to coronavirus, of which the results of 529 were positive. The average infection rate in the last seven days for every 100,000 members of the country’s vaccinated population is twenty, and for the unvaccinated population the figure is twenty-eight.

A total of 352 vaccine doses have been administered over the past 24 hours, with fifty-nine individuals receiving their first injections. As of this morning, 452,030 individuals have received their additional or booster doses. Of the total population in Estonia, 63.5% have received two vaccine doses.
