Thirteen new positive COVID-19 cases added over last 24 hours

Over last 24 hours 1,124 COVID-19 virus tests were analysed in Estonia, 13 tests, i.e. 1.2% of them came back positive.  In total, 49,527 first time tests have been performed in Estonia, of which 1,660 i.e. 3.4% have shown positive results.

As of the morning of April 28, 91 patients require hospitalisation due to the novel coronavirus, nine persons require ventilation. 240 people have been discharged. There have been no deaths due to the coronavirus during the previous 24 h period. Total 50 people have died in Estonia due to the coronavirus.

Six people who have tested positive in Ida-Viru County over previous 24 hours, Harju County (Tallinn 4), and Lääne-Viru County (3). The test results are spread equally across age groups, the youngest with positive test results are in the age group 10-14yo, the oldest is over 85yo.

A total of 202 influenza and 1,726 COVID-19 cases reported this week 

In week fifteen, a total of 3,184 people fell ill with acute respiratory infections, of whom 38.4% were children. The overall incidence of acute respiratory viral diseases increased by 39%.

A total of 151 new influenza cases and 1,466 COVID-19 cases have been added this week

In week fourteen, a grand total of 2,297 people fell ill with acute respiratory infections. Overall, 36.4% of all of the new cases involved children. The number of new cases decreased by a third.
