Sixteen positive COVID-19 cases added over last 24 hours
Over last 24 hours 1,108 COVID-19 virus tests were analysed in Estonia, 16 tests, i.e. 1.4% of them came back positive. In total, 46,218 first time tests have been performed in Estonia, of which 1,605 i.e. 3.5% have shown positive results.

During the previous 24 h period, a 69-year old man has died at the North-Estonian Regional Hospital. Total 46 people have died in Estonia due to the coronavirus.
Over previous 24 hours, most of the people with positive test results were at Harju County (7), three new cases were at Ida-Viru County and Saare County. One new case was found at Hiiu, Lääne-Viru and Valga County. Statistics are compiled based on the data from the population register. Across the age groups, most of the infected are in the age group of 55-59. Detailed statistical information of coronavirus testing is available at: www.koroonakaart.ee/en.
“Although the number of people infected with COVID-19 and in need of hospital care is in decline, it is still necessary to stay at home for some time and to avoid non-essential contacts. When we reduce social contacts, we will soon reach a situation where we can gradually return to normal life, but we will have to make sure crisis behaviour lessons stay with us, such as staying at home when sick, and washing our hands often,” said Arkadi Popov, the emergency situation medical chief.
Clarification of the Health and Welfare Information Systems Centre (TEHIK) regarding the publication of data:
In today´s statistical data one positive test result from Hiiu County has moved from the data of April 22 under the data of April 23, one positive test result from Saare County moved from the data of March 15 to April 23, and one positive test result of Lääne-Viru County has been included under data of April 1, due to the corrections done by the laboratory.
Healthcare providers (including laboratories) can correct, modify and invalidate the documents retrospectively. We always publish updated information for previous 24 hrs received from the health information system (TIS) as open data. Laboratories introduce changes, corrections and deletions, these will be included under the open data from the previous period.
Additional information can be found on the Health Board website on coronavirus: www.terviseamet.ee/en/covid19 and on the Health Board Facebook page. Questions regarding the emergency situation will be answered on the Government website: www.kkk.kriis.ee/en.
