COVID-19 blog, June 24th: one new positive test result in 24 hours

Viimase ööpäeva jooksul analüüsiti Eestis 268 haigust COVID-19 põhjustava SARS-CoV-2 viiruse esmast testi, lisandus üks positiivne testi tulemus.

Over the past 24 hours, 268 tests were analysed for the COVID-19 causing SARS-CoV-2 virus, of which 1 showed positive results.

Based on data from the population register, 1 new positive test were found in Harju County (Tallinn).

According to the latest data from the morning of June 24th, 6 patients require hospitalisation in Estonia due to the coronavirus, of whom one is on ventilation. Over the 24-hour period no new COVID-19 linked death cases were reported. In total, the coronavirus has caused the deaths of 69 persons in Estonia.

372 persons have been discharged from hospitals and 385 disease cases have been closed.

To date 1783 persons have recovered from the disease. 1364 (76.5%) of these cases have been closed and in the cases of 419 persons (23.5%), more than 28 days have passed from receiving a positive test result and they are not hospitalised.

A total of more than 103 thousand first time tests have been carried out in Estonia, of which 1983 (1.9%) have been positive for the SARS-CoV-2 virus. For more detailed statistics on coronavirus testing, please see www.koroonakaart.ee/en.

The Health Board reminds everyone that hand hygiene, social distancing and staying home when sick are still important measures to follow. The coronavirus is spread mainly from person-to-person, usually via close contact with an infected person. Close contact is seen as a situation where people are closer than 2 metres to each other for the duration of 15 minutes.

COVID-19 is a droplet infection caused by SARS-CoV-2 that spreads through sneezing and coughing from people to people, and by way of contaminated surfaces and unwashed hands.

COVID-19 blog, 23 July: eighty-four new positive test results have been added within the past 24 hours

The last 24 hours have seen 2,842 tests being analysed in Estonia in relation to coronavirus, of which the results of eighty-four (3.0%) of the initial tests were positive. A full 7,753 vaccine doses were also administered within the past 24 hours. In total, 612,683 individuals have been vaccinated against COVID-19 in Estonia, and 538,011 individuals have now received both doses. A total of 55.4% of the entire adult population has received at least one vaccine dose.

COVID-19 blog, 22 July: 121 new positive test results have been added within the past 24 hours

The last 24 hours have seen 2,698 tests being analysed in Estonia in relation to coronavirus, of which the results of 121 (4.5%) of the initial tests were positive. A full 6,916 vaccine doses were also administered within the past 24 hours. In total, 608,902 individuals have been vaccinated against COVID-19 in Estonia, and 532,767 individuals have now received both doses. A total of 55.1% of the entire adult population has received at least one vaccine dose.
