Laboratories of Health Board
Health Board manages:
- Tallinn laboratory and Communicable diseases laboratory
- Kohtla-Järve laboratory
The core functions of the laboratories are bacteriological, virological, chemical and physical testings; assurance of preparedness with respect to identifying particular pathogens, including diagnosis of uncommon diseases; participation in European infectious disease surveillance networks; fulfilling the tasks of national reference laboratories in some fields of food analysis.
In order to guarantee the quality of the results of analyses, a quality system compliant with standard ISO/EN 17025 has been implemented in the laboratories. The laboratories are accredited by Estonian Accreditation Centre.
